La Posada: Meeting the Challenge Together In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic significantly impacted and threatened the world. As we take stock of the past year, never has our mission to maximize the well-being of seniors been so important as we collectively focused to protect the safety and health of our community. The La Posada team responded quickly, acquiring personal protective equipment, putting up plexiglass, preparing a specialized COVID unit, and training staff. Together we found ways to adapt and modify programs and services to reduce risk and enhance safety. We are proud of the resiliency and positive attitude of our residents and their gracious sacrifices, especially the ability to see family and friends. We are also proud of our staff who did their jobs faithfully, cheerfully, and courageously despite the risks and fears of the virus. It was indeed a challenging year, but together, the values of integrity, strong relationships, and exceptional service sustained us. We look forward to 2021 with renewed hope and excitement. Campus-wide vaccinations for residents and staff early in the year promise a return to most of our pre-pandemic programs. But more than anything, these vaccinations mean that all of us are able to be together again. Relationships are the lifeblood of what makes our community special. As we make plans for a successful future, La Posada reaffirms our vision to maintain a healthy, lasting, and vibrant organization that will provide opportunities for seniors now and in the future to enjoy fulfilling lives, and at the same time offer meaningful careers for our employees.
